The Home and School Association, or HSA, was formed as a communication vehicle between the school and home to organize service activities, volunteers and fundraisers. Over the years, efforts of Immaculate Conception’s HSA have fulfilled the needs of the school in many ways.
The HSA exists to... ...Promote school and parish spirit through its sponsored activities. ...Support the school staff and students through fund raising and commitment hours. ...Maintain good communications between home and school. ...Provide a vehicle through which parents can serve the school. ...All parents of Immaculate Conception's children are members of the HSA by virtue of their children’s enrollment. General business meetings are held at least three times per year, various social activities bring families together at other times, and an elected board coordinates all events and activities. Please plan to attend the General Meetings as that is our best way of informing you of what is going on at the school. |
Volunteers are Vital
“Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others, faithfully administering God’s grace in its various forms.” | 1 Peter 4:10
The Home and School Association board sincerely thanks all of our volunteers for your unwavering commitment to our school community. Volunteers are a vital part of the everyday operation of ICS.
A FEW EXAMPLES of volunteer opportunities include:
Copy Cats: Every Monday and Friday, parents are asked to drop in and help run copies for the teachers.
Lunchroom Helpers: Parents are needed every day to oversee lunches. They help students open wrappers and keep
everyone "in-line"
Library Helpers: Parents help out in the library
WATCH D.O.G.S.
WatchDOGS are fathers, grandfathers, uncles, and other father-figures who volunteer for at least one day each year at an official WATCH D.O.G.S. ® school. During the day, WatchDOGS may read and work on flash cards with students, play at recess, eat lunch with students, watch the school entrances and hallways, assist with traffic flow, and any other assigned activities where they actively engage with not only their own students, but other students as well. On the day of their participation, WatchDOGS are given a brief review of their involvement and they wear a disposable ‘Dog Tag’ identifying them as a WatchDOG.
On days you are able to, please stop by the front office and “sign-in” and get a nametag/sticker.
